Can we just all admit that 2018 was a weird one?

Okay, good.

In 2018, I:

  • Was published in a magazine (for the second time!)

  • Organized the UIDC Benefit Show with help from an amazing team

  • Graduated from college

  • Participated in multiple fashion shows and photo shoots

  • Was on another episode of Chicago PD

  • Moved back home

  • Got a job

  • And another

  • And another

  • Traveled to Colorado, New York, Nebraska, Iowa (Go Hawks), and Alabama (Roll Tide)

And that's just the big stuff! This year has proven to be the most exciting and challenging yet. While I'm sure it wont get any easier, I know that I'll keep moving through it all.

Now that 2018 is coming to an end, I've been toying with setting goals for myself. I typically don't like doing the whole "New Year's Resolution" thing because it seems cliche. While I have one major goal I'd like to accomplish this year (more details later), there are some themes, rather than resolutions, that I want to incorporate into my life more this upcoming year:

The ability to face new experiences with confidence rather than hesitation: For far too long, I feel like I hid from a lot of what life had to offer because I was comfortable. The experiences I had in 2018 allowed me to develop a new sense of confidence and humor that I'm ready to carry into 2019.

The power to start and finish strong: I'm not just talking about the year of 2019 here - I'm talking projects, job searches, networking, mini goals I set for myself throughout 2019. I want to be 100% committed to the process of things! Which kind of leads me to my next theme....

The courage to leave things that aren't doing me a whole ton of good: Obviously, it isn't realistic to abandon all negative things. But, I believe it is realistic to acknowledge when things are pulling you down rather than lifting you up and deal with it from there. I want to have the courage to change or leave whatever it is that's not bringing positive vibes into my life.

Other than that, I want to read more books, travel more to new places, get another piercing/tattoo (I'm feeling rebellious), and few other things a long the way.

Whatever 2019 has coming, we got this!

P.S. I'd love to hear what you want to do in the new year and see if I could help with any of your goals!
